Adam is a Mechanical Engineering student at UMass Lowell who has been with Witch City Walking Tours since October 2024.
As an admin, he makes sure every guest has a smooth experience by handling communications and everyday concerns. He also works behind the scenes, managing scheduling and company logistics and organization.
As much as he loves the haunted streets of Salem, Adam also enjoys travelling and working on cars.
My name is Alexis and I was hired as the Broom Making Class Instructor! I am a first degree Initiate of the Alexandrian Tradition of Witchcraft and am 1 of 9 members of the Salem Coven. My official title is Alexandrian Priestess, but Witch works fine. I am also married to your fellow tour guide Justin; we’ve been married since 2020- on Halloween!
She moved to New England for college and to be closer to family. After college, she never even thought about returning home. The New England seasons and rich history drew her in and she never looked back. As an outsider, Salem has always been a mystifying place for Anne. The quirky unconventional, yet quaint and historical come together in a way one cannot deny but be inquisitive and yearning to learn more!
Anne has an eclectic set of interests from hiking, skiing, history, art, sports and music. She is always on the move and ready to experience new things! She has taught history in Chelsea for 10 years with Jon and Beth.
“Through the years, I have used the occasional family member or friend that comes to visit as an excuse to tour the City of Salem. We have frequented the walking tours before, and take with them all the knowledge and passion we all have.”
Ever since she was a little girl Ashley’s favorite holiday has been Halloween. She has a BFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art & Design and is a member of the Salem State Community Darkroom. Being a Broom Instructor combines her love of art with her favorite time of year. Ashley is also the Head Coach and founder of the JCC of the North Shore Sea Serpents Swim Team. The team consists of over 140 children ages 5-18. She lives just over the border from Salem in Peabody with her husband and Treen Coon Hound Todd.
Brian is a local musician who performs regularly around the North Shore of Massachusetts.” You may have seen Brian performing at one of our local establishments, including Mercy Tavern. Aside from performing in Salem, “I have also worked for 8 years in music education, helping students to develop their skills.” Working for WCWT has enabled Brian to dig deeper into the history of the Salem community, and share that history with visitors.
Brian has been with Witch City Walking Tours since January 2025. He is Beth’s nephew. He has been interested in the paranormal since he was a kid and enjoys hearing the stories of Salem’s hauntings. Outside of Witch City Walking Tours, Brian plays hockey, writes music and collects records and loves all things 1970s.
“My name is Cass, I’m currently a student at Northern Arizona University, heading into my sophomore year this August. I’m majoring in Political Science with a minor in Law & Society. Next spring, l’ll be spending six months studying abroad in South Korea and that’s something I’m looking forward to a lot!” I’ve been working at a donut shop since early 2022 and continue to work there seasonally while l’m at school. I’ve also had the chance to work as an admin for Witch City Walking Tours since last September, which has been a really cool and eye-opening experience. I’m really thankful for all the opportunities I’ve had so far.
Claire is a passionate storyteller and historian, and she has worked in historical sites across the east coast. After moving to Massachusetts a few years ago, Claire fell in love with Salem and all things spooky. Claire teaches high school history in addition to working as a guide at Witch City Walking Tours. Some of Claire’s favorite spots in Salem include Jaho and the Peabody Essex Museum.
Cody is a lover of all things Salem. Growing up in California, he first visited Salem 14 years ago and he felt like Salem was home. He’s an avid traveller and has been to over 43 countries. He has a masters degree in International Relations, is a French trained chef, is a designer and artist. He loves to explore New England. He’s always on the search for the best Boston Cream Donut and antique Salem Witch memorabilia.
Hi, I’m Dana! I’ve called Salem home for over 10 years and absolutely love its unique charm and deep history—there’s always something new to discover downtown. I’m also a passionate traveler and have visited over 50 countries, which has opened my eyes to so many cultures and historical perspectives. Whether I’m wandering local streets or exploring the world, I’m always chasing stories and learning something new.
Dani is a New England Native who loves all things spooky, baking and painting. She makes chocolate cupcakes and prop body organs in her spare time. She has a passion for history and feels it’s important to teach it, especially in a place as rich in history as Salem.
Danielle is a lifelong resident of the Central and North Shore, with roots in theater, sociology, criminology, and law. A guide, mother of three, and traveler at heart, she brings history alive with a clairvoyant’s touch, drawing inspiration from her journeys abroad and the stories etched into Salem’s streets and cemeteries.
David was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to Salem four years ago, but has been coming to Salem to visit family for the past 25 years. He loves history, architecture, quirkiness, and walkability of downtown Salem. David has a Masters in Education degree in History and has been an educator for over ten years, and doing walking tours in Boston and Salem for six years now.
Originally from Queens, NY, Dawn has been a Salem resident since 2012. She has embraced this beautiful city and all of its haunted history. Dawn has traveled extensively as a touring drummer and also enjoys classic rock, pickleball, reading, and video games.
Dean has lived in Salem MA for the past 7 years and has fallen in love with the city. He and his family enjoy all the history, events, and dining Salem has to offer. Dean is most excited when he learns something new about Salem’s vast history and gets to share with family and visitors.
I’m a Salem resident; I’m social and enjoy learning about others. I love walking, being outside and showing off Salem! In addition to loving my job as a Tour Guide, I’m a full time social worker and mom to boys! Grab my tour, you’ll be happy you did!
Emily is a broom making teacher with a background in theater and a deep love for Salem. She enjoys sharing the history and craft of broom making while bringing a creative, storytelling spirit to her workshops.
Originally from the 305 (Miami), Grace has happily become a New England transplant following college. She holds degrees in political science, religious studies, and theology. Grace works in higher education and is passionate about learning in engaging and accessible ways. In her free time, she’s probably hiking with her dog Rocket.
“Hancock, an amateur ghost-hunter, has a passion for learning history and has always been interested in the strange, dark and mysterious.
It’s only natural that he would find his way here to Salem.
Hancock is originally from just outside of Washington D.C., where he went to free museums all the time. After moving to Chicago for a decade and working in event marketing for Nintendo and major liquor brands, he moved out here to New England.
He has since changed gears-is an aspiring author and enjoys diving into the arts in his free time. He is a member of the Salem Athenaeum and likes to read old books.”
Raised in the nearby Revolutionary War rabble-rousing naval town of Marblehead and with my grandparent’s home in the Salem historic district, I truly enjoy the history of Salem.
I am thrilled to be part of WCWT! I grew up in a haunted house located in Northwest Connecticut, this enhanced my love for the paranormal and unexplained! By day for 20 years I was an EMT and today proudly volunteer for a company that does Fire Rehab with several fire departments on the North Shore, as well as pursuing my pursuing my BA in psychology. I am happy to bring my personal experience of the paranormal as well as knowledge of Salem to this company and share it with our guests!
Hilary was born and raised in Hingham, MA, just south of Boston. Hilary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. Clearly Hilary believed that the North Shore is superior to the South Shore, as she moved to Salem. She now calls Salem home along with her husband and a black cat named Glenfiddich.
Hilary shares: “Being a tour guide for WCWT helps keep me connected to Salem’s past and present. I get to share the fascinating history of this place with visitors from all over the world, and I get to deepen my connection to my city and my neighbors everyday.”
In addition to being a tour guide, Hillary works for Impact Hub Boston, a “global community, consultancy and a creative space” When not leading amazing tours, you might find Hilary at her favorite Salem spot, the Gulu Gulu Cafe.
Henry is a lifelong New Englander & is proud to call this wonderful city of Salem home. Henry joined Witch City Walking Tours after a decade in the corporate world to pursue his passion for teaching history & is excited to share all there is to know about our spooky little city. Outside of giving tours, you can find Henry leading art & history lessons on YouTube or out & about in town with his wonderful wife & Border Collie puppy.
In my other life, I’m an anthropologist and historian. While my degrees focus on American History from the 17th-19th century the study of folklore has always been a specific interest of mine. Since I moved to Massachusetts Salem has become my home away from home. I love exploring the rich and diverse history found in Salem! From its historic wharfs to its spectacular museums, this city has it all. Sometimes I even enjoy a jaunt over to Marblehead to visit Fort Sewell and the Burial Grounds.
Joe has been living in Essex county for over a year now and grew up in CT. He has always had a real passion for the thought-provoking power of storytelling. On the side you can often find him reading or writing fantasy, as he wants to be an author. Joe finds a lot of creative inspiration in history since “the best stories have already been told”.
I love being a resident Of Salem. Every time I walk around the city, I find something new and exciting to explore. I find a bit of history or a bit of architectural design that I didn’t realize was there. This is what makes me excited about living and doing tours in Salem.
Josh was born and raised on the north shore and joined the WCWT team in 2024. Leading tours around Salem gives him the chance to channel his passions for history and storytelling. In addition to being a tour guide, Josh is a high school history teacher and an enjoyer of the outdoors.
While Justin and his wife have only recently moved to Salem, from Buffalo NY, it has felt like home to them for years from the moment they first stepped off the train into the Witch City! They “came to learn about the trials, but felt at home in the incredible history and architecture.” His experience as a performer and song writer has had him in front of crowds dazzling folks with stories for several years now, and he could not possibly love it any more than he does.”I’m honored to have the chance to tell people the amazing stories that our city has to offer!”
Kara is a Massachusetts native, who attended the Mass College of Art and Design and Boston University. She has taught art to middle schoolers in Chelsea for over 12 years. “I have 2 cats, Stew and Luna and a 100lb Pitbull named Korra. like to read fantasy books with werewolves, faeries, and other mythical creatures. I love to travel and explore new places, especially big cities but would never move out of MA for any reason. I love the people and places too much!”
“I have been visiting Salem for many years for the tours, ghosts, music and shops. I love teaching broom making classes and doing tours for the history, but also for the supernatural and spiritual aspects of the craft. Learning new things and meeting new people is my passion. Over the last couple years, I have taken fashion illustration and forging and welding classes, but I love to work with wood and fibers the most!”

House, and other buildings. His work has appeared in Architectural Digest, Boston Globe, and Wall Street Journal….Lee loves history, has been traveling New England giving presentations about historic architecture and is excited to have some new stories to tell about Salem. He’s spent every October in Salem for years, loves to get into the Halloween stuff and make an effort to watch one scary movie every night for the entire month of October.”
Lisa grew up in Boston, she earned a degree in Medical Assisting, Administration, and Phlebotomy. Lisa has always had a passion for history, especially the history in her own backyard – the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. She also loves to do paranormal investigations at numerous spots across the U.S. Her favorite places in Salem are the Witch Trials Memorial, Rockafellas, and the Witch House. In her spare time, Lisa likes to write, ghost hunt, photography, travel, and cooking.
Meaghan was born and raised in Boston, visiting Salem every year with her parents for as long as she can remember. After a childhood of interpreting American history (and ghost stories) to her endlessly patient family and friends, she earned a degree in Public History and has been giving history tours for more than a decade. Now living in Salem, Meaghan enjoys spending time with her husband and three cats and exploring all the fun shops and museums Salem has to offer.
Michael lives right in the heart of downtown and knows the best spots to check out while visiting. “I love the PEM and Mercy Tavern and the live music scene that we have here in Salem. I love the Speakeasy Lounge at Deacon Giles Distillery too!”
Michael has passion for all things Salem and loves sharing this passion with guests from all over the world. “I really get into connecting with my guests, and love when I see them throughout town after the tour. I really love turning a bored teen into a captive member of the tour group.. I love that the stories never seem to get old because each new group brings an entirely different energy to the table. it’s always different”
Hi! My name is Michelle. I work for Witch City Walking tours as an ASL translator/security person. I love learning new information and languages!
After moving to the North Shore in middle school, Mykaela quickly fell in love with Salem, and has since spent half her life here. Her passion for history stems from her belief in a strong, supportive community, and equitable access to education. Aside from history and politics, you can usually hear her discussing her cat Boopboop (yes that is the cat’s real name,) or singing along far too loudly to the radio in her car.
Rachel was destined to be a fan of Salem and everything Halloween. She explains, “I’ve been inspired by Salem’s Witch City since I was a day old, literally, I was born on Halloween, so Salem feels like it was meant to be. I am a high school history teacher by trade, and I enjoy witchcrafts and magical adventures. My passion is using history to inform the present, so that we can create a better future”
Rebecca loves sharing the stories of the fascinating people who have called Salem home and have influenced what the city is today. She’s a lifelong learner and pop culture enthusiast with plenty of fun tidbits to share about the city she loves. When she is not touring, she’s most likely walking near the waterfront or sitting somewhere cozy with her nose in a book.
Ryan joined Witch City Walking Tours in 2019 and being a history nerd, has loved every minute of it. Moving to Salem for his eighth grade year, he made it a personal mission to learn all he could about the city around him. Giving tours has made him fall in love with every brick in the sidewalk. Each one has a story to tell from years past. Ryan can’t get enough of local cuisine and coffee, so he knows where to go for a good bite!
Born and raised in New Orleans, a true lover of History, Culture, and all things Spooky! Has always had a love and passion for Salem and finally had the opportunity to make the move here in 2021. She takes pride in her knowledge and is always learning more. Uses humor and quirkiness to share these things with others!
Seán is a professional historian and teacher who has been involved with museum and non-traditional classroom education for over 25 years. He is originally from Maryland, though he has called Salem home since 2011. His background is in 18th century history, but he will happily talk about the Witch Trials if you provide him enough tea.
Stacy Kilb is a professional cat herder with more than 10 years of experience. When not following feisty felines, she can be found stalking the streets of Salem. Having haunted the city since 2005, she is more than happy to eloquently expound upon its not-so-halycon history as well as its contemporary charms.
Over the past decade, Theo’s public history career has taken him a lot of interesting places—from the Gettysburg battlefield to Boston’s Freedom Trail. Salem, however, is home—he loves the sea, the shops, and the community. When not giving tours, Theo is probably at his day job or enjoying a bad movie with his cats. His favorite places in Salem are Jaho, Bit Bar, Emporium 32, and the Peabody Essex Museum.
Salem is a town that calls people to itself. Tish jumped at the opportunity to move here to be closer to family three years ago after living all over the country. Her background includes writing, producing, real estate appraisal, life coaching, and working with youth. Her screenplays have placed in notable competitions. Tish is involved with the Salem Athenaeum, The House of the Seven Gables, writers groups, and is a member of Historic Salem.
“I’m excited to be a part of Witch City Walking Tours because it gives me the opportunity to share my deep love for Salem’s rich history. While the Witch Trials are an important part of the city’s past, l’m especially passionate about teaching the broader history of Salem, including its maritime trade, pirate heritage, literary connections, and influence on pop culture.” Originally from Uxbridge, Topher has now called Salem home for the past two years.

Vanessa is a talented and captivating story-teller, with a knack for mixing humor with historical fact. Vanessa has lived in Salem since August 2018. Moving here from Pensacola, FL, she fell in love with the rich history and eclectic lifestyle Salem offers. She is an 8th grade Civics teacher and loves sharing her knowledge of history with others. Her B.A. is in History with an emphasis on the witch hunts during Tudor and Stuart England.
From a circus performer to Salem tour guide Violet has worked in the entertainment industry her entire life! Born and raised in Massachusetts, Violet loves all things Salem and spooky.
William has lived locally his entire life, having been born in Salem and raised in neighboring Marblehead. He loves history, correcting Hollywood’s version of history, and telling terrible jokes. He also enjoys providing random, unsolicited historical information to anyone and everyone possible.
